The recent surge in BTC prices is mainly due to Bitcoin ETF. Investors can now buy and sell Bitcoin ETF on traditional exchanges instead of crypto exchanges. This way they don’t have to worry about maintaining private keys, wallets, etc.
But what is Bitcoin ETF?
BTC ETF or BTC Exchange-traded fund is an investment fund that mimics the price of Bitcoin and can be sold and bought on traditional exchanges. Investors can invest in BTC without actually owning any BTC. So, in other words, you buy real Bitcoins on a crypto exchange following all the crypto security protocols and you buy Bitcoin ETF on a traditional exchange where you buy other normal stocks.
Three main advantages of Bitcoin ETF: Short sell and no worry of wallets, keys, etc. needed to buy actual BTC. Lastly, many investors would now have regulated channels to invest. In the case of crypto, this isn’t true with all exchanges. However, I read that some exchanges may charge an ETF annual management fee so this might be a minor drawback.
That sounds great so, how can I actually buy Bitcoin ETF?
The Bitcoin ETF is trading on NYSE with the ticker BITO and you can buy/sell this on eToro, Webull, Robinhood, etc.
